Pastor Sharon L. Burns
Reverend Sharon L. Burns along with her husband, Reverend Johnny L. Burns, have been Pastors at New Life Christian Fellowship in Ledyard, CT since November of 1992. Under their tutelage and strong leadership, New Life has grown immensely from a faithful twelve and is a place where lives are delivered and set free by the power of God.
Reverend Sharon was called into the ministry at the early age of five. Her parents recognized that God had blessed her with a gift to sing. Having grown up in the church atmosphere, she was exposed to great opportunities to minister to all kinds of people. Her singing ministry took her to many states, television appearances, live recordings, local and national events - one being the featured inspirational singer for the American Cancer Society for over six years. She also had the opportunity to release her own recording entitled “Time is Running Out”.
While flowing heavily in the ministry of song, Reverend Sharon accepted the call of God on her life to minister the preached word of God from behind the sacred desk. Her training over the years has been by the guidance of the Holy Spirit and setting under the teachings of her husband, Reverend Johnny Burns, who has been instrumental in mentoring and encouraging this anointed vessel of God.
Rev. Sharon operates in all facets of the ministry. She has been a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Director, Lead Soloist, Psalmist, Praise & Worship Leader and Instructor, Youth Director, Spiritual Advisor for Troubled Teens in State facilities and Counselor to many of all ages. She is a dynamic teacher and preacher of the gospel who has been chosen to wear the prophetic mantle and freely flows in the prophetic realm. She is experienced in Pulpit ministry, Women’s conferences, Seminar facilitator, street evangelism and prison ministry. Rev. Sharon is currently a member of the Chaplaincy Board of the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. She also attended and successfully completed a Clinical Pastoral Counseling Training Program through The Saint Francis Academy for Clinical Pastoral Training.
Reverend Sharon Burns is the illustration of the Proverbs 31 woman. While fulfilling the role of a dedicated wife and wise mother, she is a hands-on Pastor with a heart to serve God and his people. Her endeavor is to always “practice what she preaches”. She is an example to the women under her tutelage of putting God first in your life, above all things, and trusting Him at His Word. Her greatest desire is to stay in the presence of the Lord behind the veil and fulfill the will of God for her life for she knows, only what we do for Christ will last.
Reverend Sharon L. Burns is the wife of over thirty years to the love of her youth and is the blessed mother of three children, one daughter-in-law, two sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren with one on the way.
